Savannah Rum Runners opened its doors in 1997. The original recipes were born from those of Ann Rogers’ old Charleston family.
Her recipes were handed down from grandmothers and great-grandmothers. A bite of the rich, moist traditional Savannah Rum Cake takes you back on a tasty visit to the Old South.
The Savannah Rum Cake has been, from the start, the house specialty. Fresh, chopped pecans float in a buttery glaze drizzled over the freshly baked, sinfully rich cake, generously flavored with quality rum. Other magical cakes offered include Kahlua Cake, Chocolate Mousse Cheesecake, Sour Cream Pound Cake with Key lime icing, Georgia Peach cake and many more.
Long time bakers Abbi Carter, Calvin Curry and Marie DeVine use only the finest, freshest ingredients in their lovingly prepared baked goods. Real butter, fresh eggs and fine spirits all combine to make Savannah Rum Runners’ specialties. The bakers are constantly creating new recipes, along with the tried and true originals.
